Doubts Over NAB’s Expertise in ex-PM Questioning

Islamabad: The questioning of former Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi facing charges of corruption by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has revealed interesting insight into the legal knowledge and technical skills of the former PM, so much so that even NAB expertise appeared subdued, a media report said on Saturday.

According to a report in the news portal ‘The News’, the NAB quizzed Abbasi that to save money, why the private-owned SSGCAL’s LPG terminal, located at Port Qasim Authority in Karachi, was not used for Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) production. The former PM responded by saying that LPG and LNG might sound similar, but are not the same. This, the portal said, exposed the technical knowhow of NAB experts. The news portal claimed to have listed a set of questions and their replies by the ex-PM, maintaining that Abbasi at the time of his arrest was not informed as to which specific corruption charge was being slapped on him.
