Italian Scientists claim successful testing of coronavirus vaccine

Italy: After Israel, this time a group of Italian scientists has claimed that they have developed a vaccine that could kill new coronavirus in the human body. The new coronavirus has created a pandemic almost across the world and more than one hundred countries including India have been trying hard to tide over the crisis since its outbreak. Hence, the claims of Israel and Italian scientists have brought ray hope amid the widespread pandemic care. As per reports, an Italian medical firm has claimed that it could develop a vaccine that neutralises the novel coronavirus in human cells. The team has already carried a test of the vaccine at Rome's infectious-disease Spallanzani Hospital. It was a success, claimed a people in the know.

Some reports said that tests conducted on mice by a team of scientists at the Takis, an Italian medical firm, showed they developed antibodies after a single vaccination that can block the virus from infecting human cells. "According to Spallanzani Hospital, as far as we know we are the first in the world so far to have demonstrated a neutralization of the coronavirus by a vaccine. We expect this to happen in humans too," Luigi Aurisicchio, CEO of Takis said to media. One day ago, Isreal Defence Minister Naftali Bennett claimed that Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) has developed a "monoclonal neutralizing antibody" and it could attack and neutralise the virus inside the carrier's body. In scientific study monoclonal antibodies are cloned from a single recovered cell. Thus, they are much easier to create and use unlike the polyclonal antibodies which will have to be derived from multiple cells. However, it is unclear if the vaccine has been tested on humans.
