Colorado: A nurse in Colorado has created a chandelier out of empty Covid-19 vaccine vials that she had collected. With this chandelier the nurse paid a tribute to her fellow healthcare workers. The chandelier now stands as the symbol for home for millions of people.

Laura Weiss is a retired nurse who was requested by the Boulder County Public Health to help in administering Covid-19 vaccines in February. Though Weiss gladly offered to help, she did not like empty bottles of the vaccines lying waste all around. She came up with the idea of transforming them into a work of art after getting permission to use the empty vaccine bottles.

She said, "I had noticed all these hundreds and hundreds of empty vaccine vials that were otherwise going to be wasted, and I thought they were just really beautiful and wanted to do something significant and meaningful with them."

In an interview with the press she asserted, "I think that light can represent hope and clarity and it also has the potential to actually expand the bigger view and verify perspective."

The pictures of the chandelier were shared on the official handle of the Boulder County Public Health with the caption, "One of our talented Public Health Nurses, Laura Weiss, created this gorgeous piece of art using empty COVID vaccine vials. Thank you so much for sharing this artwork with the community, Laura!"

The chandelier is yet to find a permanent home. Weiss express that she wishes everybody to see the work of art and "understand her intention of honouring her co-workers who have worked tirelessly during the pandemic".
