About IMA

The Indian Military Academy (IMA) trains officers for the Indian Army. Located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, it was established in 1932 following a recommendation by a military committee set up under the chairmanship of General (later Field Marshal) Sir Philip Chetwode. From a class of 40 male cadets in 1932, IMA now has a sanctioned capacity of 1,650. Cadets undergo a training course varying between 3 and 16 months depending on entry criteria. On completion of the course at IMA cadets are permanently commissioned into the army as Lieutenants.

The academy, spread over 1,400 acres (5.7 km2), houses the Chetwode Hall, Khetarpal Auditorium, Somnath Stadium, Salaria Aquatic Centre, Hoshiar Singh Gymnasium and other facilities that facilitate the training of cadets. Cadets in IMA are organized into a regiment with four battalions of four companies each. The academy's mission, to train future military leaders of the Indian Army, goes hand in hand with the character building enshrined in the IMA honour code, warrior code and motto. Cadets take part in a variety of sports, adventure activities, physical training, drills, weapons training and leadership development activities.

Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun has released an employment notification for the recruitment of 188 Group C Vacancy in the cadre of Cook Special, Cook IT, MT Driver (Ordinary Grade), Boot Maker/ Repairer, LDC, Masalchi, Waiter, Fatigueman, MTS (Safaiwala), Groundsman, etc.

Other Criteria of IMA Dehradun Recruitment

Age Limit: 18 to 27 Years for MT Driver (OG), Lab Attendant, and GC Orderly Not exceeding 27 years and not less than 18 years. For all other posts 18 to 25 Years.

Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India and should not have more than one spouse alive.

Application Fee:

• Candidates must submit a Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) of the value of Rs 50/- (Rupees Fifty Only) in favor of the Comdt, Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. The postal order should be issued on or after the date of publication of the advertisement.
• Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH and Ex-Servicemen/ EWS are exempted from the application fee.

How to apply for IMA Dehradun Recruitment ?

• Candidates must submit applications through Registered post/Speed post (through Indian Postal Service only). Enclose two self address envelopes (size 9″X 4″) with Rs. 5/- stamp affixed on it. Documents and certificates should be tagged properly. Proforma for the application form is enclosed in Appendix -A. Incomplete application forms will not be accepted.
• The candidates must clearly superscribe "Application for the post of ——————-" on top of the envelope in capital letters. The reserved category candidate including ex-servicemen and PH should also write their category on the left-hand corner of the envelope
• Applications complete in all respect along with all requisite documents, duly self-attested, should be addressed to the Comdt, Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.
• One recent passport-size photograph (not more than three months old) is to be pasted on the space earmarked in the application format. Besides, two additional photographs duly self-attested (on the front side) are to be enclosed separately with the application.
• The last date for submission of the application is 45 days from the date of publication of the advertisement [DOP: 20.11.2021 to 26.11.2021] in Employment News and Rozgar Samachar.
