The Public Health Engineering Department of Government of Meghalaya was created under the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) and functioned under PWD (R&B) PHE, till 1st April, 1972. This Department functioned as a separate wing of the PWD (R&B) headed by an Additional Chief Public Health Engineer, Meghalaya, Shillong.
