About SBI RSETI Ri-Bhoi:

SBI has set up 151 Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETIs) across the country as institutions to mitigate the unemployment and underemployment problems among the rural youth in the country. RSETIs are non-profit institutions established with the support of the State Government and Central Governments. The objective is to generate self-employment in rural areas through training for capacity building and by facilitating settlement invocations. 60% of candidates trained in RSETIs belong to the 'Below Poverty Line (BPL)' category.

RSETIs are imparting comprehensive quality residential training programme in personality and skill development areas to rural youth free of cost and facilitating them in settlement in vocations. More than 6 lakh candidates have been trained by SBI-RSETIs over a period of 7 years of which 67% have been successfully settled in gainful employment. Settlement is facilitated by enabling follow-up of the trained candidates, for a period of 2 years, to launch profitable micro enterprises either with or without credit linkage from financial institutions. Also, they are facilitated to secure wage employment in their skill areas elsewhere. Each RSETI offers 25 to 30 skill development programmes in a financial year in 60 avenues/traits approved by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) under Agriculture, Product, Process and General Programmes, through uniform standardised curriculum. Product Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) such as tailoring, candle making, Costume Jewellery, Bamboo and cane craft, Papad, Pickle and masala making, Jute products and Process oriented activities such as Motor vehicle repairs and services, mobile repair and services, masonry and bar bending, beauty parlour management have been popular among the candidates. Trainings on allied agriculture activities such as Goat rearing, sheep rearing, piggery, mushroom cultivation are well received by the candidates.

The duration of the programmes ranges from 10 days (80 hours) to 30 days (200 hours). Training programmes are usually decided by the institute based on the locally prevalent traits and potential demand for the products/services.

Educational Qualification and Eligibility Criteria for Faculty Vacancy:

• The minimum qualification is MSW/MA in Rural Development/ MBA (Finance & Marketing), previous experience as Faculty preferred.
• Computer knowledge, proficiency in the local language is necessary, and fieldwork activities.
