NEW DELHI: The Surajkund International Crafts Mela (fair) is organized annually but this year the fair comes after a long gap of two years due to the global covid pandemic.

Surajkund Mela in the Surajkund village near Faridabad of Haryana is hosted by the Haryana Tourism Department with unique attractions for visitors of all ages.

The fair witnessing a huge number of visitors gives a remarkable glimpse of Indian folk traditions and cultural heritage. It presents rich Indian diversity of handicrafts, cultural fabric and handlooms.

This Mela regarded as the world's largest attracts over a million visitors which includes thousands from foreign countries across the world.

The one of a king Surajkund Mela is the best platform for different types of artists worldwide who gets the opportunity to showcase their creativity and culture.

Notably, a total of 20 nations from the continents of Africa, Europe and South Asia have volunteered has extended their support for the success of the world popular Surajkund Mela.

The objective of the Mela is to promote the culture and talent and flawless craftsmanship by capturing the dash of colours and speed of the music.

One can enjoy tasty, delicious and traditional multi-cuisine food courts loved by tourists. The fun factor in the fair increased by spellbinding recitals by nighttime at Natyashala and glittering folk performances at the 2 'Chaupals' (a community building).

Specialized areas are formed for exciting amusement parks, thrill rides and adventure sports which are main attractions for the youth visiting the mela.

Date:

The 35th Surajkund Mela this year starts from 19th March and ends on 4th April 2022. The Mela timing began from 12:30 pm and it will continue at 09:30 pm at night.

Ticket price:

The price of a ticket for the weekday is Rupees 120 per person and on the weekend day, the ticket price cost Rupees 180 per person.

Theme:

The theme state for 2022 Surajkund International Crafts Mela is 'Jammu and Kashmir' which showcases a rich legacy and distinct culture through handicrafts and art forms.
