KHADC CEM Titos W Chyne leads team in disinfecting Sohra areas

SHILLONG: The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Titos W Chyne, led a team to spray disinfectant at various parts of Sohra on Sunday.

The CEM, who is also an MDC of Sohra constituency, started the process of spraying disinfectant from Laitryngew village including the Public Health Center (PHE), Sohra Market located at Pdendshnong, Marai, Saitsohpen, Lad Thanad, Police Station and concluded at CRPF Camp.

The CEM lauded the village elders including the Village Defence Party and volunteer from various villages for their support by not coming out of their homes while their area is being disinfected.

He said that the objective is to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus in the area as the state and the country as a whole is fighting the virus and finding ways to eradicate it. He also urged the general public to be cautious and follow the guidelines of the government concerning COVID-19.

"It's very easy to protect oneself from the virus as people only need to wash their hands on a regular basis, use hand sanitizer and always wear a mask when moving outside," the CEM said.
