SHILLONG:The Meghalaya government admitted that there are loopholes in the distribution of essential commodities, while attributing to the communication gap as one of the aspects to the entire grumbling in certain pockets of the State.

Amidst the grumbling by a section of people spanning many districts of the State, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that there has been no drawbacks in the delivery system except for certain lapses that has been reported.

"Everything has been delivered by the district administration, channelise through the village councils and their respective fair price shops", he stated adding that there are adjustments made to ensure that those without a fair price shop cards also get there dues as per the advisory.

"The cuts of the rations is based on the adjustment made by the village councils. There might be deduction from others to fit those without a ration card.
