Although set up quite a few years back, the restaurant has managed to maintain its quality, hygiene and perfect customer service. GAMS Delicacy was established way back in 2006 when the ethnic food craze had just hit the people of Assam and Northeast India. The founder, Mr. Bhuban Gam, has a vision for the restaurant, which is to bring ethnic food to the fore. The biggest USP of the Restaurant is the authenticity of the ethnic recipes. Since Assam is land of various species of bamboo, the entire decor and ambience is made up on those lines. Bamboo trolleys, Bell metal plates, Copper jugs complete the ethnic look.

The restaurant has an exhaustive menu. The fish menu is pretty popular, given the wide range of food dishes. Smoked and boiled meat are other popular items. With the traditional Saang over the fireplace strategically placed in a transparent cubicle, it also adds for a visual delight. Besides the fish and meat items, various types of chutneys and pickles are also served.

For those who prefer their meals course by course, there are many soups to serve as appetizers, and selection of indigenous deserts like Kheer, Payash, curd and sweets to round up a meal. The prices of the meals are reasonable too. A vegetable thaali is pretty affordable and with a bit of more money, there are many other items to rev it up. Food lovers can gorge on the delicious dishes without feeling the pinch in their pockets.

The best thing about GAMS Delicacy is the ambience and the affordability of the dishes. Made-up entirely with bamboo furniture, the prices of the dishes are highly affordable when compared to other ethnic restaurants. If someone asks us to mention about the specialty of the restaurant, we would immediately point out at the health quotient of the food items. All the food items served here are totally healthy and cooked with as much less oil as possible.

Coming to the service, the restaurant is manned by a bevy of experienced chefs and bearers who make your dining all the more delightful. The restaurant is open for limited hours i.e only during lunch and dinner but the prompt and courteous service of the staff does not fail to disappoint you. Although finding a parking spot is difficult, we are sure that a visit to this restaurant won’t disappoint you.

A customer Imdadul Choudhury shared his experience by saying, “This is a well known place for traditional Assamese cuisine. The ambience is good as it is neither too loud nor too dull. It is a good place to go with both family and friends if you want to have a scrumptious traditional meal. The service is good too. Now coming to the food, the thalis are a great option to go – be it the non veg or veg. The amount is good given the price and place. I had the chicken thaali as well as veg thaali and was satisfied both the time. The chicken curry is one of the best dishes available there. Also I tried the smoked chicken. The taste was good but one problem was that 2 pieces were just bones. The pigeon fry tasted great, they say they give one complete pigeon but seeing the amount of onions and the pigeon pieces, I doubt that. Overall it's a good experience visiting this restaurant.”

Another customer Bhargav Gogoi, who happens to be a pork lover, recounted, “I ordered the Special pork Thali and I must admit I did not expect to see five dishes of pork in it. It was way more than just a mouthful, and it was really good to have food that was worth my money. The service here is good too because despite its usual rush, food was served quickly.
