RECIPES TRAIN RESTAURANT

Over the last few years, the food and beverages industry of Guwahati has developed at a tremendous pace. With the increase in purchasing power and rise of the middle class, dining out has become more common among the people. To cater to this increasing demand of the people, a number of fine dining restaurants have come up in the city.

Off late, there is a new buzzword going on around the casual dining circles about a new restaurant which uses locomotives to serve your food. You have guessed it right! We are talking about none other than Recipes TainRestaunt which

Located in the busy GD Road, Florentine has been in existence for quite some time now. It can very well be said to be one of the first contemporary fine dining restaurants which provided Guwahatians and visitors of the city the opportunity to explore new cuisines in a fine dining environment.

Guwahati Dining is the brainchild of Mr Mriganka Hazarika, one of the leading entrepreneurs of the State and the region. Right from the time of its launch, the diner has met with a very encouraging response from both non-vegetarian and vegetarian guests.

Talking about the menu, Hazarika says, "A fine dine multi-cuisine restaurant at Hotel Gateway Grandeur, Florentine takes the pride and honour to serve Guwahatians a range of authentic global cuisine; touching different taste buds with mouth watery dishes and exquisite flavours from our varied Continental, Italian, Oriental, Chinese, Mexican, Lebanese & Arabic menu."

Besides providing buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner from the Ala-Carte menu, Florentine also caters to a huge number of walk-in visitors to the restaurant every day. It has been seen that many restaurants come up with great menus, only to be let down by their service staff. In this regard, Florentine once again scores some brownie points as they are manned by very experienced staff members. The restaurant is manned by a bevy of well experienced and talented chefs who are highly skilled and specialized in preparing and innovating the menu.

The first thing that strikes one as he or she enters the dining area is the subtle yet overpowering décor of the place. Tastefully decorated, the interiors boast of a nice assemblage of tastefully crafted furniture and sofas. The interiors of the restaurant have been very nicely decorated with a nice colour scheme. The ambience and the seating arrangement of the place sets the mood for a perfect dining out experience. All in all, the place manages to elevate your senses and takes you to a surreal environment where the emphasis is solely on good food and conversation.

Talking about the menu, Hazarika says, "We have tried to incorporate flavours of all the region of the country in our menu. However, our USP would undoubtedly be our wide range of Tandoor items, which are an all-time favourite with our diners." He adds, "Florentine also serves various mocktails& cocktails as a concoction with the food menu by our ever smiling and professional Food & Beverage service team."

The restaurant also serves a special buffet lunch every Sunday, which is pretty popular amongst its regular clientele and visitors to the hotel. Hazarika says, "Florentine is in a league of its own; it is renowned among food lovers for its classy ambience and classic silver service provided to our guests and clients."

The restaurant also hosts food festivals on a regular basis. They recently organized a Goan food festival to give Guwahatians a taste of Goan food and culture. Talking about his experience, a visitor Sumit Das opined, "I visited this place during this year's Goan food festival to get a taste of the cuisine of the erstwhile Portuguese colony. Situated on the ground floor of the hotel, the restaurant has a nice cosy ambience to its credit. The staff is courteous and was well informed about the menu and its contents. We ordered the sopa de camaro (soup) which was decent but was served without the complimentary nachos. For the main course, we went with pomfretrecheado which was good, goan lobster which was amazing given its creamy taste and coconut rice which had a distinctly different flavour. Overall, it was a decent experience."

Another food blogger Siddhanta Das opined, "This is another one of those places which serves really good food on a consistent basis. However, there is just something missing to push the food to the next level and that is its only problem in my opinion (since the ambience and service is top notch). The best part about this place is the service and the ambience. The waiters are extremely well mannered and courteous and the interiors are plush."
