Aamir Khan’s epic take on Salman Khan finding a ‘Gauri’

Days ahead of his 60th birthday, star Aamir Khan gave Bollywood a big headline after he introduced his new girlfriend, Gauri Spratt, to the paparazzi. And guess what? Gauri isn’t just any mystery woman - she’s from Bengaluru, a mom to a six-year-old, and also works at Aamir’s production house. After his press conference, Aamir was asked if Salman should also find a “Gauri” as Shah Rukh Khan’s wife name is Gauri Khan, and he too is dating Gauri Spratt. “Salman ko bhi Gauri dhoondh leni chahiye (Salman should also find a Gauri)?” Aamir replied, with a sigh, “Salman kya dhoondhega ab? (What will he find now?)” He was asked whether Salman had taken any tips from him and Shah Rukh Khan on settling the bachelor Khan. Aamir replied, “Salman will do what is best for him,” Aamir replied.

Aamir left everyone shocked when he spoke about his relationship with Gauri Spratt and admitted that they have known each other for nearly two decades. Aamir further added that their romance started around 18 months ago. For the unversed, Aamir was earlier married to Reena Dutta and Kiran Rao. During the recent interaction, the popular actor also shared what he felt for Gauri. “I was looking for someone who I can be calm with, who gives me peace. And there she was”. Aamir said that Gauri has met his family, close friends, and even Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. He even introduced Gauri to his children from previous marriages and said that she was warmly welcomed by them.

 On being asked if the star’s wedding plans with Gauri are underway, Aamir said, “We are fully committed. But at 60, shaadi shayad mujhe shobh nahi degi (marriage at 60 may not suit me).” Gauri has reportedly watched Aamir’s two films including Dil Chahta Hai and Lagaan. He said, “My girlfriend is prettier than Katrina Kaif. I feel like home when I am with her”. He also mentioned that he has arranged private security for Gauri, and made a Lagaan reference as he spoke, “Bhuvan ko uski Gauri mil hi gayi.” Aamir was first married to film producer Reena Dutta from 1986 to 2002 and they are parents to Junaid and Ira Khan. In 2005, he married director Kiran Rao and the two are parents to Azad. Kiran and Aamir parted ways in 2021. Meanwhile, Salman Khan - who dated several ladies including Sangeeta Bijlani, Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif in the past - is single. (Agencies)
