Importance of the Brahmasthan

The five basic elements must be properly placed and balanced to have maximum benefits. Ether or the Space is considered to be the most important Vaastu element. It represents the sky as well as the universe. In houses and plots, the space element occupies the centre which is called the Brahmasthan. In human bodies, the space element is around the stomach region.

The Brahmasthan controls the entire house just like the stomach controls our entire body. The flow of energy in the house is from the centre only. In Brihat Samhita, it is written that a household will be happy and prosperous if the Brhamasthan is strong. It is said that Lord Brahma, the creator of this universe resides in the Brahmasthan. Any defect in this area adds insult to Lord Brahma and all fruits of labour will come to a nought. So, it is important that we keep the Brahmasthan protected and as per Vaastu.

In earlier days, it was customary to leave the centre of the plot or house empty. It is still followed in our villages where a courtyard or Chotal/Choupal is invariably kept. A tulsi plant at this place is very auspicious. It is still a practice to have religious gatherings or Bhajan/Kirtan, etc., at the Choupals, but because of space constraints, this is not possible now. Even then, one can keep or design the house in such a way so that the centre is kept vacant and used as a passage or corridor.

DON'T DO THESE AT THE CENTRE

* Do not make any kind of depression at the Brahmasthan. Wells, ponds, underground tanks, etc., are forbidden here. A depressed centre will bring all sorts of financial problems. It can be raised a bit so that water runs off on all sides.

* Keep the Brahmasthan clean. Do not keep garbage or dust bins at the centre.

* Do not keep heavy furniture at the centre.

* There should not any beam, staircase or toilet at the Brahmasthan

* There should not be anything related to the fire element in the centre. Kitchen, electrical items, inverters, etc., should not be there.

USE OF CLOVE (LAUNG) AND CAMPHOR IN VAASTU

Cloves and camphor have excellent properties of destroying negative energy. These can be used to remove Vaastu defects. If you feel, things are not going your way and you are not getting desired results despite hard work, then burn some camphor and few cloves in a silver bowl/plate and spread the fumes all over the house/place of work regularly. Just watch how the things turn in the positive direction! Burning camphor at home purifies the air at home which in turn helps in bringing positivity and peace to the body and mind and soul and helps in getting rid of all the negativity in the house.

If there are frequent difference of opinion among family members or husband and wife leading to quarrels, keep camphor tablets in all corners of the house. It will remove negative vibes.

If your money is stuck for a long time, offer cloves with camphor inside a red rose to Goddess Durga. You will get back your money fast!

Regular burning of camphor near Goddess Lakshmi improves finances.

If you are facing financial difficulties, burn cloves with camphor in the kitchen (preferably in a silverware). Financial losses will be compensated.

To improve your luck, take a bath with some camphor mixed with water on a Saturday.

If you do aarti with camphor and cloves after chanting Hanuman Chalisa, chances of mishaps and accidents will be minimal due to protection from Lord Hanuman

BENEFITS OF BLACK RICE

Black rice is cultivated in southeast Asia and Asia. Black rice is famous for its rich taste, and it was a special food for rich people earlier. This variety was also called forbidden rice because there was a time in China's history that black rice was forbidden to all who weren't noble or royalty. This rice has got several health benefits like improving eyesight and a healthy heart. Black rice is also excellent for diabetes control since it is rich in amino acids, fatty acids, antioxidants, flavonoids, anthocyanins, and other phenolic compounds.

Hindus consider black rice as very auspicious and use it for several Vaastu purposes.

* By wrapping black rice in a black cloth and offering to Goddess Kali on a Monday can bring lot of good luck and happiness. This also removes diseases from the house and the members have a healthy life.

* If one is facing problems in career or difficulty in getting a job, he/she should mix black rice in mustard oil and offer to Lord Shani on a Saturday. The seed mantra "Om Shan Shanicharaye Namah should be chanted along with this.

* For happiness in married life and from children, offer Black rice mixed with water to the root of a peepal tree. An oil lamp should be lit on a Saturday under a peepal tree by putting black rice in mustard oil.

* If any work gets stuck for no apparent reason, tie some black rice in a cloth and hang it behind the picture of Lord Hanuman (flying) and keep it in your place of worship. The unfinished work will be completed soon.

A KITCHEN TIP

For the ease of storage and availability, people store their rice and flour in plastic containers. This is very bad as per Vaastu. Plastic containers are symbolic of bins and by placing rice and flour in these plastic jars and containers we are turning prosperity away from our lives, in other words throwing it into the bin. Store them in metal containers.
