THANE: Despite the fact that a case has been filed, the accused continues to evade capture, leading to demands for rapid action.

A private clinic in Kalyan, Thane, saw an incident when a 26-year-old receptionist was allegedly beaten by a man after she denied him access to a doctor's room without an appointment. Later, the defendant was taken into custody.

The confrontation occurred when the doctor on duty had particularly instructed receptionist Sonali Pradeep Kalasare not to permit any patients inside, as he was in a meeting with a medical representative. Despite this, the man allegedly became hostile when asked to wait.

"Started abusing and beating me"

Speaking about the traumatic experience, the victim said, "The patient who came with her relative was going inside without their turn being called... When I told him to wait, the person started abusing me and beating me, and somehow I called my sister."

She is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital. Confirming the incident, a police official said, "Based on the victim's complaint, we have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita for assault, using obscene language and outraging the modesty of a woman."
