It becomes a problem for the flight to take off when the langurs come on the runway, which is why this costume is effective.” This unique idea was taken up by officials who claimed that monkey hazard and that it hampered several operational activities of the airport.

Kapdi added, “When the monkeys come, I wear the costume and clear the operation area so there is no problem in landing or take off.” He explained that the baboons usually come in the morning and at sunset.

Even though there are 25 employees already in a place whose job is to make sure no animal threat hampers any operations, but this unique idea was given by the Ahmedabad Airport Director Manoj Gangal who wanted to try out this new idea.

In April 2019, as per the data shared by airport authorities, there were at least 2 flights and 10 more delayed due to 15 monkeys that entered into the operational area of the airport.
