BHIMAVARAM: A shocking incident occurred when a woman in Yendagandi village of Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district received a parcel with a decomposed body instead of the promised electrical appliances.

The recipient, who was identified as Naga Tulsi, had approached the Kshatriya Seva Samithi earlier seeking funds for house construction. The organization had sent her tiles earlier and had assured further aid, including electrical items like lights, fans, and switches. On Thursday night, Tulsi received a parcel at her doorstep from a delivery person, who claimed it contained the promised appliances.

When she opened the box, Tulsi saw the body of a man. She estimated the man to be around 45 years of age and deceased for 4-5 days. The ghastly scene left her family shocked. They informed the police, who immediately went to their place and questioned them. A letter found in the parcel demanded Rs. 1.30 crore from the family. It said dire consequences awaited them if they failed to meet the demand.

The cops, led by District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, immediately initiated investigations. The body has been sent to a government hospital for autopsy, and identification efforts are being done to identify the deceased. Authorities are questioning representatives of the Kshatriya Seva Samithi and reviewing missing person reports from nearby police stations.
