BSP Leader Shot Dead in Ambala, Attackers on the Run

AMBALA: A Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader from Haryana’s Ambala, Harbilas Singh Rajjumajra, was shot dead by armed assailants in Naraingarh on Friday evening, police confirmed on Saturday.

According to the police, Rajjumajra was traveling in his car with two friends, Puneet and Gugal, when the attack took place. Puneet sustained bullet injuries but is reported to be out of danger, while Rajjumajra succumbed to his injuries late at night after being rushed to PGIMER, Chandigarh.

The attackers have not been identified yet, and a police team has been formed to track them down. Naraingarh SHO Lalit Kumar and Superintendent of Police, Ambala, S S Bhoria, have initiated an investigation into the matter.

Local BSP leaders in Ambala have called for swift action and demanded the police apprehend the attackers as soon as possible. Rajjumajra had contested the assembly election from Naraingarh last year but was unsuccessful.

Meanwhile, a man was shot dead in an alleged firing incident in the Jewel Chowk area of Jammu, a police official confirmed on Tuesday. Authorities have formed a team to apprehend the culprit.

Regarding the firing incident, Jammu Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain told reporters, “In this incident, a person named Sumit Jandial has been shot. He was attacked by his rival gang. This is not a terrorist case... investigation of the case is ongoing. The victim has died and we have formed the team, soon the culprit will be nabbed.”
