NEW DELHI: The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Anil Chauhan greeted all ranks of the Indian Army warmly on the 77th Army Day.

While speaking, he underlined that the day was a tribute to the unwavering dedication, courage, and professionalism that characterized the Indian Army, which continued to be the cornerstone of India's security and unity.

General Chauhan noted the enduring legacy of the army, based on its ability to adapt to diverse challenges while serving the nation with firm commitment. He appreciated the undeterred dedication of the Indian Army men in maintaining high levels of readiness, excelling at operational tracks, and assured citizens a safe and secure lifestyle under any condition.

The CDS was of the opinion that in today's modern conflict, warfare is increasingly dominated by technological developments and changing geo-political trends. He also underlined the new domains of Cyber, Space, and Cognitive arenas emerging into warfare. He said the impact of future technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Data-Centric Architecture, and Autonomous Vehicles on future combat will be very disruptive.

The CDS commented on the changing nature of warfare, one that is gradually being influenced both by technological progress and changing geopolitical dynamics. As he pointed out, new arenas like Cyber and Space and new Cognitive arenas became integral to warfare, he spoke for Gen Chauhan on transformatory effects of technologies about future combat.

He stressed that the Indian Army must keep evolving its tactics and techniques, staying one step ahead of the adversary, thereby suggesting a more technical variety of training along with much-improved Information and Communications Technology.

In conclusion, General Chauhan saluted the gallant warriors who died in the line of duty, urging every soldier to imbibe the glorious traditions of the Army while stamping themselves with courage and valor to confront future challenges.
