CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke on Thursday announced a nationwide campaign, ‘Kya Bolti Public?’, set to begin in September to gather public feedback on issues affecting citizens, with a primary focus on education.
Speaking after the party’s two-day national core committee meeting, Dipke said the campaign would highlight concerns over the commercialisation of education, rising school and college fees, and the financial burden on parents. He alleged that quality education has become unaffordable for middle-class and working-class families and called for reforms to make education accessible.
Dipke also raised concerns over the high cost of higher education and coaching institutes, saying many parents are forced to take loans. He said the campaign would engage directly with students, parents, and citizens to build public opinion and press the government to act. He stressed the need to strengthen government educational institutions, describing education as a fundamental right.
Referring to the recent protests over alleged irregularities in the NEET examination, Dipke said the demonstrations reflected growing public anger over issues including unemployment.
Clarifying the party’s future course, Dipke said the CJP would not contest elections and would instead function as a pressure group focused on administrative reforms and protecting the rights of ordinary citizens. (IANS)
