Bengaluru: German TikTok star Noel Robinson was briefly detained by Bengaluru police this week while filming a street dance video in traditional Indian attire.

Robinson, known for his viral dance clips filmed around the world, was taken to a nearby police station and fined for filming without prior permission. He was held for approximately 15 minutes.

In a video shared on Instagram, Robinson is seen being escorted into a police vehicle, appearing momentarily disoriented after bumping his head while being guided by an officer.

“I Love India,” Says TikToker After Scare
Despite the brief detention, Robinson assured his followers that he was safe and expressed no ill will. “This was my first time being taken to the Police Station! I was scared they would send me to prison, but luckily, everything was fine. I’m safe and I love India,” he said.

He also dismissed concerns that the incident reflected poorly on the country, stating, “Don’t be sorry, guys! This could have happened in every country. It’s not about India.”

This is not the first such case in Bengaluru. Earlier, another German TikToker, Younes Zarou, was also briefly detained for attracting a large crowd while filming on Church Street.

Local authorities have reiterated the need for prior permission to shoot in public spaces, particularly when large gatherings are likely to occur.
