Hansika Shukla of Ghaziabad tops Class 12 CBSE exam

Guwahati: Daughter of Associate Professor at a College in Ghaziabad, Hansika Shukla topped the Class 12 Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) board exams, the result of which has been declared today.

Hansika, a student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Ghaziabad topped the Class 12 CBSE examination in the entire country. Hansika in an interview said that she couldn’t believe it when her mother called her up to congratulate her for having topped the exams in the country as she was in home when the results were announced and her mother was in the college.

Hansika said that her father called her from his office but she couldn’t take the call and then her mother called her and told her that she had topped the exams. Hansika’s father works as a secretary in the Rajya Sabha.

Hansika has scored 100 out of 100 in all the subjects except English and her score in the subject is 99 which is the only regret of her. The subjects in which she scored 100 are History, Political Science, Psychology and Hindustani vocals. She further said that she had not taken any tuition during her preparation for the board exams and the result was completely based on her self-study.

Hansika now wants to pursue Bachelors in Psychology after which she wants to join the Indian Foreign Services. While asking as to why she wants to pursue Psychology, she said, “Psychology is my passion and I want to follow it and as far as my career is concerned, I want to join the Indian Foreign Services as I am fascinated with the dynamics of foreign affairs.”

Talking about the choice of her subjects, Hansika said that she always had an interest in History. History and Political Science always go hand in hand saying that she just wanted to study the subjects but had never thought about the exams.

Speaking about her hobby, Hansika said that she listens to classical music and a little bit of Bollywood and English songs to relax at times.

Hansika also says that her parents always motivate her and they keep on focusing on her studies adding that her parents' constant support enabled her to achieve this.
