LUCKNOW: A shocking murder case has emerged from Lucknow, where five members of a family were found dead on New Year's morning in what appears to be a gruesome crime committed by one of the family members.

The accused, Arshad (24), reportedly recorded a video of the murder and shared it online. In the video, Arshad is seen showing the lifeless bodies of his mother and four sisters, explaining how he killed them.

According to reports, Arshad blamed the harassment his family allegedly faced from their community in Agra, claiming that he was under immense pressure, which led him to take this extreme step. The family, originally from Agra, had traveled to Lucknow to celebrate the New Year.

In a chilling turn of event, it was revealed that Arshad's father, Badar, assisted him in the murders. After committing the crime, Arshad dropped his father at the railway station before heading to the police station to confess to the killings.

The police are currently searching for Badar, who is on the run. CCTV footage from the railway station is being reviewed to track his movements and apprehend him. Arshad, along with his father, mother, and four sisters, had arrived in Lucknow from Agra on December 31. They had made a stop in Ajmer before returning to Uttar Pradesh's capital, where they checked into a hotel.

The investigation revealed that Arshad strangled his mother, Asma, with her dupatta and stuffed cloth in her mouth. He also used the same method to kill his sisters, Aliya (9), Alishiya (19), Aksa (16), and Raheeman (18), before slitting their wrists.

DCP Central Zone Raveena Tyagi stated that Arshad claimed his family was being harassed by neighbors, and he feared for their safety if something were to happen to him. This fear drove him to kill them, he confessed. Following his confession, the police recovered murder weapons, including a blade and a scarf, and a forensic investigation is underway to collect further evidence.

The police continue to investigate the matter and verify the details of the incident. The crime scene has been secured, and forensic teams have been deployed to gather crucial evidence. A thorough probe into the domestic disputes and other circumstances surrounding the killings is ongoing.
