Modi Terms Mamata Banerjee as "Speed Breaker Didi"

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today termed Trinamool Congress Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as 'Speed Breaker Didi' alleging that she creates obstacles impeding the speedy development that he delivered in other states. The PM also urged the people to remove the hindrance from the way.

Addressing a rally at Siliguri in West Bengal, Modi said that he has not been able to deliver development in Bengal at the pace that he has achieved in other states and said that this state has a speed breaker which is known as 'Didi'.

The Prime Minister further alleged that 'Didi' does not care about the poor adding that her politics will end if the poverty would be removed and it is the same in case of CPI (M).

The BJP also slammed the Trinamool Congress leaders on the Ponzi scams and alleges that they ran away with the money deposited under the scheme.

Modi further pointing to the state officials said that those who are on payroll of the TMC and are often found spreading terror will be taken to task soon.

The Prime Minister also criticized the Bengal Chief Minister for pulling out of the Ayushman Bharat insurance project and also accused Banerjee for not implementing PM Kisan Samman Yojana in the state as well as the Real Estate Regulations Act that his government brought to protect the middle class investing their hard-earned money in apartments.

Assuring the Gorkha people, Modi said that they will not be harmed if a citizenship screening exercise is conducted in the state.

On security forces, Modi said AFSPA is a protective shield for the country's soldiers so that they can take any step for the security of the country fearlessly but the Congress wants to snatch it away from the army by giving the proposal to amend the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act, 1958. He further said that Modi will not let any intruders walk away.
