Mohan Bhagwat’s Gen Z remarks draw praise from NDA; CJP flags BJP-RSS differences

NEW DELHI: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s recent interaction with Gen Z and Gen Alpha students has drawn praise from NDA leaders, while Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) convener Abhijeet Dipke cited the remarks to allege a lack of synchronisation between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

NDA leaders welcomed Bhagwat’s outreach to young people. Bihar Minister Ram Kripal Yadav praised the RSS chief for making an effort to understand the thoughts, concerns and aspirations of the younger generation.

“Mohan Bhagwat interacted with young people on a large scale and made an effort to understand their thoughts and concerns. I believe his remarks were very apt and serve as a valuable example for all of us,” Yadav said.

Telangana BJP president N. Ramchandra Rao also described Bhagwat’s interaction with students and youth as fruitful and beneficial to society. He said the RSS chief’s message was important and relevant in the present context.

Rao noted that Bhagwat addressed several issues, including student protests. According to Rao, Bhagwat recognised protests as a democratic right while cautioning that the right should not be misused for other purposes. Meanwhile, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said Bhagwat’s remarks were particularly significant because young protesters had previously been criticised by BJP leaders. Speaking to reporters at his hometown on Friday, Dipke urged BJP leaders to follow the RSS chief’s position on the Gen Z movement.

Dipke recalled that during the CJP’s Jantar Mantar protest, BJP president Nitin Nabin had allegedly described the protesters as a “virus”, while then Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had referred to them as the “B team of terrorists”. He said BJP leaders should listen to Bhagwat, whom he described as being, in a way, the BJP’s “mentor and godfather”.

“If the BJP leaders are not listening to their mentor, then it is quite problematic,” Dipke said, adding that Bhagwat should himself speak to BJP leaders.

Citing the contrasting positions, Dipke alleged that there appeared to be disagreements between the BJP and RSS. “It seems there is no synchronisation between the BJP and the RSS as both are saying different things,” he said. (IANS)
