Narendra Modi's biopic to be released on April 11

Guwahati: The biopic of Prime Minister Narendra Modi "PM Narendra Modi" is planning to release the film in 38 countries including the US, UK, Canada, Australia and the UAE said Producer Anand Pandit.

In a statement issued by the Producer Pandit it said that PM Narendra Modi's life has great interest not just among Indian audiences but also cinema-goers across the world. Pandit said that they have planned to release the film not just in the country but in at least 38 countries. It further said that the film will be released in 1700 screens in India and plan to release it in about 600 screens overseas.

The biopic of Narendra Modi is set to release on April 11 with the beginning of the Lok Sabha elections announced by the filmmakers on Friday. The film will be available in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil and the team is planning to release it in other countries on the same day as in India.

The film was about to release on April 5 which was earlier set on April 12 but to some controversies, the film couldn't be released.

Following a Supreme Court order, the filmmakers later deferred its release from April 5 as the top court set the date to hear a plea seeking to block the movie's release for April 8.

Producer Pandit said that now there should be no doubt on what the biopic is all about and that it is a cinematic product. Those who have questioned the film and asked for a ban on it are the ones who have tried to stifle freedom of expression.

Pandit also said that the film is inspiring and at the same time entertaining and those who have said that film as agenda-driven haven't even seen the film.

He further said that they have not made the film to glorify the Prime Minister or counter the questions raised by the opposition parties and that they have focused on the journey instead of getting into hardcore politics.

On Thursday, a Congress leader has filed a plea seeking the deferment of the biopic's release which was scheduled to be released on April 5 to which the top court had agreed to hear the plea. The Congress leader seeks the deferment of the biopic's release till the completion of the Lok Sabha elections alleging that it was designed to manipulate, influence and impress the voters and the viewers.
