New Delhi: PM Modi Commemorates Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's Birth Anniversary as Parakram Diwas

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lead the nation in commemorating the birth anniversary of iconic freedom fighter Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose during Parakram Diwas celebrations at the historic Red Fort today. The special event will also mark the nine-day Vilas Bharat Parva aimed at highlighting the rich textiles and diversity of India’s culture.

The concept of Parakram Diwas was launched in 2021 in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of honoring the contributions of eminent personalities in India’s freedom struggle. The festival will not only honor Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose but also serve as a platform to reflect on the profound legacy of the Azad Hind Fouj.

The Bharat Parva, scheduled from January 23 to January 31, will take place at Ramlila Maidan and Madhavdas Park opposite Laldurg. The event promises to showcase vibrant Republic Day images, carefully crafted as a collaborative effort by 26 major ministries. These shows will shine a spotlight on community-oriented programs and promote local and tourist attractions This year’s Parakram Diwas Utsav is designed as a multi-faceted event that seamlessly blends historical perspectives with cultural dynamics. The activities planned for the occasion will delve into the iconic journey of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the Azad Hind Fauj.

The Prime Minister’s Office has announced that rare photographs and documents narrating the life of Netaji and the Azad Hind Fouj will be on display, giving visitors a unique opportunity to delve into the rich history of India’s War of Independence.

The highlight of the festival will be the Red Fort, a symbol of India’s freedom struggle. The event aims to engage the public in an immersive experience and foster pride in the country’s history and sacrifices of its heroes.

As the nation comes together to honor one of its most revered freedom fighters, Parakram Diwas stands as a testament to India's commitment to preserve and celebrate its rich cultural and historical heritage encouraged. The Bharat Parva with its collection of plays further emphasizes the unity of diversity that defines the essence of the country.
