Rahul Gandhi Attacks Telangana CM Chandrsekhar Rao in Zaheerabad

Guwahati: Congress President Rahul Gandhi attacked Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for supporting the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government led by Modi on the Good and Services Tax (GST) and demonetization.

Gandhi also slammed Rao for not opening up his mouth on the Rafale issue during his speech at a rally in Zaheerabad parliamentary seat currently held by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Bheemrao Baswanthrao.

Gandhi asked the crowd of Zaheerabad that have they seen their Chief Minister ever raise the issue of Rafale. Did he ever say 'Chowkidar Chor Hai' (the watchman is a thief)? Giving the answer himself a no, Gandhi said that the TRS and their MPs help Narendra Modi. He also said that the fight is against Modi and BJP and the entire country knows that Congress is fighting not TRS.

Gandhi also stated that there is a drama going on. Chandrasekhar Rao speaks against PM and vice versa and he also praised Congress sometime but the Prime Minister speaks against Congress, not the TRS in the Parliament adding that the people need to understand there is a fight between the two ideologies and only Congress is against them.

He further highlighted the issue of income guarantee scheme and said that the Congress has decided that the party will give Rs. 12000 to those whose income is less than Rs. 12,000 which means they will deposit Rs. 72,000 to 5 crore families every year hitting out at Modi's scheme that Modi will give Rs. 15 lakh which Gandhi said is a big liar.

He also added that they have worked for six months and dig out that the truth is that Rs. 15 lakh can't be given and that the truth is that Rs. 3, 60,000 could be given which the Congress will do with guarantee and it is the party's surgical strike on Garibi.

Further, hitting on Narendra Modi, Gandhi said that the Prime Minister has given Rs. 30,000 crore to Anil Ambani, Rs. 35,000 crore each to Mehul Chauksi and Nirav Modi, Rs. 10,000 crore to Vijay Mallya and thousands of crores to Lalit Modi but Congress has come up with a number of just Rs. 72,000.

The polls of Telangana will go to polls on April 11 for the 17 parliamentary seats in the first phase of the national election.
