NEW DELHI: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has launched a new online registration module for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025, which will replace the current Detailed Application Form (DAF)-I and DAF-II. Union Minister Jitendra Singh made this major announcement on Thursday, emphasizing its aim to enhance convenience for candidates and simplify the application process.
In a letter to the Rajya Sabha, Singh clarified that the new module is meant to streamline the examination cycle while making sure that candidates submit crucial information and supporting documents. This encompasses vital details like date of birth, reservation category, and educational qualifications, which are required to be submitted along with the online application form.
The minister stressed that non-compliance with submission of the required information or documents would lead to the cancellation of an application of a candidate for the examination. The CSE is held every year by the UPSC in three stages: preliminary, main, and interview, to select candidates for coveted posts in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others.
This step shows the commitment of UPSC to make the process of civil services examinations simpler, more efficient, and user-friendly for ensuring ease of access to deserving candidates. The new registration module is meant to make the process of applying smoother for anyone wanting to join the civil service in India.
