Guwahati: A group of terrorists on Monday morning attacked a joint team of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kreeri area of Baramulla in North Kashmir; one police officer and two CRPF jawans were martyred in the deadly attack.

A special police officer (SPO) and two CRPF troopers were martyred during the terrorist attack in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. Terrorists attacked a security forces party at a 'naka' in Kreeri area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir, said Vijay Kumar, inspector general of Jammu & Kashmir.

The two soldiers of CRPF were rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment, but both succumbed to their injuries.

According to the police, the area was cordoned off by the security forces, and search operation to nab the terrorist was underway.

The terrorists managed to escape from the spot, soon after the attack. This is the second attack on security forces in the last 24 hours in the north Kashmir. On Sunday (August 16, 2020), a joint team of forces was fired upon by terrorists in the orchards of Sopore village.
