NEW DELHI: 87-year-old Charulata Patel, one of the oldest fans of team India, is no more. Patel, who could be seen cheering for the Indian Cricket Team, had passed away on January 13.

BCCI tweeted, "#TeamIndia's Superfan Charulata Patel ji will always remain in our hearts and her passion for the game will keep motivating us. May her soul rest in peace."

She became a much famous and talked-about person when she was spotted cheering for team India in ICC World Cup in England. Media became more conscious and concerned about her once the star cricketers of the team Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma could be seen sitting beside her and taking her blessings and love.

Reportedly, Virat had asked Charulata to attend all the remaining matches and had also promised her of arranging the tickets for the remaining matches for her. Accordingly, Virat kept his promise and arranged the world cup tickets for her. A picture of Charulata sitting in the gallery and cheering for her team could be seen shared by BCCI. She could be seen cheering for India while the team was playing against their Asian rivals Sri Lanka. The photo shared by BCCI also accompanies a note which read, "Dear Charulata Ji, It is so inspiring to see your love and passion for our team and I hope you enjoy the games with family.
