Act Against ‘Juggad’ Rickshaws, Delhi High Court Tells Police

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked the police to crack down on ‘juggad rickshaws’ — which are assembled using scrap parts of mainly decrepit scooters and pedal rickshaws. A Division Bench presided by Chief Justice D.N. Patel and Justice C. Harishankar asked the Delhi Police to take necessary action. The order was passed as the court heard a petition filed by a Shiv Kumar through advocate Rajdipa Berua seeking the court’s direction to the Centre not to allow the ‘jugaad rickshaws’ in their current form to ply on the road as they violate the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
