Army man in UP kills woman after the latter’s relative informed authorities of his return

NEW DELHI: An army jawan Shailendra allegedly shot dead a woman whose relative included the name of the jawan and his family in the list of people from Kolkata.

The incident happened at a village in UP.

An FIR has been lodged at Kurra police station.

Shailendra allegedly entered the home of one Vinay Yadav after the latter included the name of his family in the list.

The jawan allegedly assaulted Yadav which is when his brother Dinesh and sister-in-law Sandhya rushed to his rescue. Shailendra opened fire and Sandhya died in this scuffle, police said.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the village head had asked Yadav to make a list of people who had arrived at the village from cities.
