Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on May 5 said that the top 10 meritorious students in Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations will be rewarded with a helicopter ride.

The announcement was made by the Chhattisgarh CM while addressing a press conference during his constituency-wise public interaction drive at Rajpur in Balrampur district, which lies roughly about 420 km from the state capital Raipur.

Baghel said that the district-wise toppers in both the board examinations will also be rewarded with a helicopter ride by the state government.

The CM also went on to say that the reason behind this move is to motivate and encourage children. He added that the chief minister's toppers chopper ride will provide inspiration to the district-level toppers.

"Air travel is something everyone desires. I believe that a helicopter ride will inculcate in the minds of children a desire to fly high in the skies of life and they will sharpen their skills even more to achieve their goal," the chief minister said.

Baghel confessed that during his visit to three Atmanand English Medium Schools in the Samri Assembly constituency on May 4, he came to realize that the students possessed a lot of talent but lacked motivation.

The chief minister also shed some light on children's excitement and curiosity on seeing him arrive in a helicopter and said that the top 10 meritorious students in Class 10 and 12 board exams at the state and district levels will be rewarded with a chopper ride and they will be invited to the capital city of Raipur.

Earlier on May 4, Baghel kicked off his constituency-wise public interaction drive from the state's tribal-dominated Balrampur district.

Meanwhile, all 90 Assembly constituencies in the state will be covered by the CM as part of his campaign and he will also make surprise visits to at least three villages in each segment.
