NEW DELHI : As per an official statement, President of India, Droupadi Murmu will present the awards to the winners of Digital India Awards on 7th of January, Saturday, 2023. 

The government development the Digital India Programme with a view to develop the country digitally, and promote knowledge economy. Digital India Awards (DIA) recognises unique digital projects evolved by government bodies at various levels.

Interestingly, DIA 2022 not only revolves around the government entities but also motivates newly emerged startups and grass root level digital projects, which fosters the Digital India Vision. The event will take place in New Delhi, along with several dignitaries including Minister of Electronics and IT Communications and Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw along with Alakesh Kumar, the Secretary of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

This is the seventh edition of the Digital India Awards. Several categories are included that includes digital empowerment of citizens, digital initiatives at grassroot level, initiative for ease of doing business, data sharing and use for socio economic development.

The other categories are based the digital initiatives in collaboration with new projects and startups, best web and mobile initiatives complying with GIGW. The event will be telecast live on Doordarshan and live-streamed on NIC social media platforms.

Digital India Awards are introduced under the patronage of the National Portal of India. The selection process for the respective award is undertaken by government bodies through the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal. This is managed by the Director General at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The portal is developed on the advice of PM Narendra Modi, that will manage all the National Awards.

The Digital India Award 2022, has been secured by Recykal, who brought in a new initiative the manage the issue of plastic littering on Kedarnath pilgrimage trek. Recykal with immense happiness thanked the government of Uttarakhand, union bodies, associates and the public for their massive support.
