Former PM Manmohan Singh turns 88 today, PM Modi, other leaders send wishes

PM Modi took to Twitter to wish Dr Singh on his birthday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi did not miss the opportunity to take a dig at Modi.

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh turned 88 today. Leaders from across the political spectrum took to Twitter to wish him.

Other than being the Prime Minister of India and heading the UPA coalition government from 2004 to 2014, Dr Singh also played an important role in leading the country's economic reforms as the finance minister in the PV Narasimha Rao's government during the years 1991-1996.
