Hyderabad Rape-Murder Case: Here Is Why #VCSajjanar Trending On Twitter

Hyderabad: As soon as the nation woke up on Friday morning, the social media got flooded with news of encounter of all four accused of the dastardly Hyderabad rape-murder case. Eventually, #VCSajjanar started to trend on the microblogging Twitter along with other social media platforms.

While a section of the social media was seen heaping praises on Sajjanar for his prompt and bold action, many have also questioned the legitimacy of killing under trials in such a manner.

It may be recalled that a veterinarian in her mid-twenties was charred to death after being gang-raped by four men on the night of November 27th, 2019.

Top cop Sajjanar who is a specialist having handled many similar cases was probing the veterinarian gang-rape and murder case. The Cyberabad Police led by Sajjanar moved a court on December 2 seeking custody of the four people arrested in connection with the heinous crime for interrogation.

While the Telangana government had also promised the case will be heard by a fast-track court, the four accused of the rape case was killed during a police encounter as they were taken to the spot for a reconstruction of the crime scene. Then, one of the accused attempted to attack the cops in a bid to escape from police custody.

VC Sajjanar, popularly known as an encounter specialist is the Cyberabad Commissioner of Police. An IPS officer of 1996 batch, Sajjanar has records of gunning down three accused of an acid attack case in 2008. Twitteratis recalled the hailed Sajjanar as they recalled the pathetic 2008 Warangal acid attack case.

In December 2008, three men were arrested on charges of attacking two college girls of Warangal’s Kakatiya Institute of Technology with acid. Sajjanar cracked the case within 48 hours just the way he did in the Hyderabad rape-murder case.

When Sajjanar was posted as the IG Special Intelligence Branch, he was lauded for his crucial role in the killing of Naxal leader Nayeemuddin.
