New Delhi: The legendary cricketer, Kapil Dev who recently underwent angioplasty after a heart attack has been discharged from the hospital. The 61-year-old cricketer complained of chest pain on Thursday and was admitted to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. He was discharged from the hospital on Sunday, as he is doing fine now.

Dr Atul Mathur, the director of cardiology department in the Fortis Escort Heart Institute, performed an emergency coronary angioplasty on Kapil Dev. In a statement by the hospital, it said that Kapil Dev can resume his daily activities soon, and will be under regular consultation with Dr Mathur.

Dev's former India teammate, Chetan Sharma posted a picture on Twitter of Kapil Dev and Dr Mathur. He wrote:
