MUMBAI : Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt went through a heart surgery few days ago, however, his condition is stable as of now. Bhatt claims that technically, 'surgery' is a wrong term to use. He cleared that, he underwent an angioplasty, which differs from surgery.

Bhatt mentioned that, during a surgery doctors use knife, while angioplasty is a process which requires only 30 minutes, there's no requirement of blood and does not demand the patient to stay in ICU overnight.

As per the reports, Bhatt during his regular health checkup was informed that he might need a heart surgery soon. Mahesh Bhatt's son Rahul mentioned that, his condition is better and he has been brought back to home. He refused to reveal further information on privacy grounds.

Actress Alia Bhatt and wife Soni Razdan are yet to comment on the matter. Bhatt is currently 74 years old and has been blessed with a granddaughter last year. While interacting with the media, Bhatt claimed that the role of a grandfather that he has to play is the most difficult of them all.

Mahesh Bhatt, after the surgery expressed his gratitude to the medical team for their tremendous work. He stated that, the he chose to do angioplasty as a preventive measure. He was admitted in the H.N Reliance Hospital. The procedure was on 16th January, and he was back home on 18th January, added the filmmaker.

Mahesh Bhatt is currently getting prepped up for his upcoming movie, 1920: Horrors of Heart. The movie will stare Balika Vadhu fame, Avika Gor. Apart from Avika, Randheer Rai will have a prominent role in the film. Mahesh Bhatt's last hit direction Sadak 2, starred his daughter Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapoor.
