BIHAR: A man who is a resident of Bihar's Khagaria district received an amount of Rs 5.5 lakh in his bank wrongly credited, has refused to return it. He claimed that the money was credited by Prime Minister NarendraModi.

The man identified as Rajit Das has received the money mistakenly from The Grameen Bank. The bank has served several notices but Ranjit refused to give the money as he said that he has already spent the money.

Rajit earlier in May received the money and was in cloud nine as he thought PM Modi has sent the money as he has promised every one of depositing Rs 15 lakh in their bank account.

Ranjit claimed that the money which he received was the first installment of Rs. 15 lakh and so he had spent it.

He has however been arrested by the police based on the complaint given by the bank manager.

Earlier today in Assam a gang of miscreants snatched an amount of Rs. 50,000 in cash from a girl in Guwahati on Tuesday. As per reports, the incident took place near a bank in Lal Ganesh area of Guwahati on Tuesday when the girl was on her way back to home after withdrawing the money (Rs. 50,000) from a bank. The girl Monalisa Das, who had gone to deposit a cheque in her father's name, was approached when he was on her way to home. The miscreants, after approaching her, grabbed a bag she had with her and escaped in a bike. The bag contained the cash, reports said.
