Man Shot Dead For Rearing Pigs Near Neighbour's House

NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man was killed allegedly by his two brothers on Monday after they engaged in a scuffle over an issue related to rearing of pigs. The incident took place at Khera village in Shahdara in Delhi. One of the deceased's family members suffered injuries in the incident.

As per reports, two families have been fighting over this issue for the past one year or so. Around 1pm on Monday, members of one family fired multiple bullets at members of the other family as a result of which one man was killed and another person got critically injured.

Police said a person Sandeep Chandoliya runs a meat shop in Farsh Bazaar and rears pigs near his house at Khera village. A resident of the village Vikcy lives near the place where Sandeep rears his pigs. The two persons and their families have been fighting over this for the past one year. In April, 2020 both the families had registered FIRs against each other following a scuffle. On Monday, around 11pm both Sandeep and Vikcy again began fighting over the same matter, police said.

A team of cops reached the spot after receiving the information about the verbal duel, pacified both the families and sent them home. However, after a couple of hours, Vicky and his brother fired bullets at Sandeep's relatives Vikas Lal (35) and Suresh because of which both of them were injured. Vikas succumbed to his injuries at GTB hospital, while Suresh was under treatment at the hospital, as per last reports available.

A murder case based on Sandeep's complaint has been registered by the police and Vicky and his brother Rocky have been arrested.
