Shraddha Murder Case: Court Extends Judicial Custody Accused By 14 days
The court had increased the accused's judicial detention by 13 days at the case's last hearing on November 26.

NEW DELHI: Aftab Amin Poonawala, who is accused of strangling and dismembering his live-in lover Shraddha Walkar, had his judicial detention extended by 14 days by a court in this city on December 9.
The court had increased the accused's judicial detention by 13 days at the case's last hearing on November 26.
Poonawala, 28, is accused of sawing Walkar's body into 35 pieces and storing them in a 300-liter refrigerator at his home in Mehrauli, south Delhi, for about three weeks before disposing of them over many days.
On the other hand, In his first media interview after his daughter's murder was made public, Vikas Walkar demands for the execution of her live-in boyfriend, restrictions on dating apps, and counselling for young people.
The father of 27-year-old Shraddha Walkar, who was reportedly murdered in May by her live-in lover, has accused the Mumbai police of being slow to respond to his complaint, while also pointing out that he only went to the police in September.
The Vasai and Nalasopara police "showed a little negligence on my complaint," Vikas Walkar (59), who spoke to the media for the first time since his daughter's death was made public in November, claimed.
Maybe if my daughter had been alive, I would have had more evidence to use against Aaftab for murder (Poonawala). Investigations of their negligence are necessary.
Additionally, my daughter had reported Aaftab's abuse of her and threats to kill her to the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar police, but no action was taken. I would like this to be looked into as well.
The Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar Commissionerate is responsible for the Vasai, Nalasopara, Tulinj, and Manikpur police stations.
Walkar claimed that he had met with Devendra Fadnavis, the lieutenant governor of Delhi, and members of the Delhi Police, all of whom had told him that justice would be served. "I am pleased with the Delhi Police investigation. At this time, I do not desire a CBI investigation. I've chosen Delhi-based attorney Seema Khushwaha to represent me in court," he declared.
