New Delhi: A Pakistani man has killed seven members of his own family by setting them on fire alive.

Among these seven two are his daughters and four are grandchildren.

Reports said that the man named Manzoor Hussain has reportedly set fire on a house in Muzaffargarh district of Pakistan's Punjab province as his daughter has married against his wishes.

Fauzia Bibi and Khurshid Mai, both daughters of Hussain, were living in the house with their families. Bibi, her infant son, Mai and her husband and their four minor children died in the blaze.

Reportedly, Fauzia Bibi has married one Mehboob Ahmad about 18 months ago against her father's will.

During the incident Ahmad somehow survived and lodged a police complaint against Manzoor Hussain and his son Sabir Hussain.

Earlier in Guwahati, a major fire broke out near NH-15 at Chichi Bargaon Chariali in Dhemaji district after an oil tanker turned turtle on the roadside losing control of the wheels on Saturday night. At that time, the oil tanker was coming towards Dhemaji town carrying oil from Dibrugarh. As soon as the tanker turned turtle, massive inferno engulfed the vehicle producing thick fumes of black smoke. Instantly, the flickering flames spread to the several shops nearby the NH-15 and burnt them to ashes.

It is reported that almost 14 shops were damaged in the fire incident. The driver of the vehicle had a narrow escape. Later, the fire tenders were rushed to the spot from Dhemaji, Silappthar and Dibrugarh to douse the fire and control the blaze from spreading further. It took them more than two hours to douse off the flames. Notably, road traffic accidents have frequently been reported at the Sissi-Borgaon Chariali as a result of which the local people and organizations have been demanding the authorities to manage spread breakers on NH-15 at the accident prone zones under the area.
