Kolhapur: In a shocking incident reported from Rajasthan, a 6 months old pregnant woman from Assam was allegedly sedated, raped and forcibly wedded by two men.

According to media reports, the victim was abducted from Assam with her three-year-old daughter and was allegedly forced to consume a drink that had been mixed with sedatives.

The incident came to light when the victim somehow managed to escape and went to the police station to lodge a complaint.

In the police complaint, the woman stated that the two accused men threatened to murder her three-year-old when she refused to give in to their demands and was forced her to have physical relations with three other men.

Meanwhile, the victim also alledged that a woman helped the accused in trapping her.

A police inspector investigating the case said that "The role of the woman suspect is also being investigated along with how the woman was brought to Kolhapur from Rajasthan. We are also investigating why the suspects came to Kolhapur."

Further based on the complaint the accused were apprehended and were presented before the local court and was sent to 5-day judicial custody.

In India, the crime against woman and minors has witnessed a surge in the recent past.

On January 15, a 15-year-old minor girl captive in Lucknow for over 13 months and was repeatedly raped and forced into prostitution by four men.

It was only when the girl after escaping complained of stomach ache and was found to be pregnant. Police official stated that the main accused, who works as a guard at a school, lured her on the pretext of a job and allegedly raped her.

Further, the girl's parents have been working as marginal labourers in Lucknow for the past five years. The victim came to Lucknow from Nepal in search of a job two years ago.

A search is on to nab the remaining accused.
