Prime Minister Lays Foundation Stone of Kashi Viswanath Temple in Varanasi

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday laid the foundation stone of Kashi Vishwanath Mandir Vistarikaran Saundaryakaran Yojana in Varanasi. The project will be rolled out in four phases.

On Friday, the Prime Minister has kick-started the proposed project by putting five bricks with the name of the temple inscribed on it in the presence of Governor Ram Naik, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and state BJP Chief Mahendra Nath Pandey.

Laying the foundation stone, Modi said that had there been cooperation earlier, they would launch the project rather than laying the foundation stone. He said, "In the first three years there was non-cooperation of the state government. The developmental projects here took pace after the people made Yogi Adityanath the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh."

He further claimed that non-cooperation by the previous Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh was responsible for the delay in start of a beautification project in his Lok Sabha constituency.

The Prime Minister has also addressed the National Women Livelihood Meet 2019 at Deendayal Hastkala Sankul and lauded women for their contribution towards the development of the country. He said, "Your work is not only helping your family but it is also taking the country towards prosperity."

The Prime Minister will unveil the Panki Power Plant in Kanpur and will also inaugurate a section of the Lucknow Metro Rail through a video link. He will also lay the foundation stone for Agra Metro Rail project and will also address a gathering.

Modi will inaugurate the Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) section of the metro in Ghaziabad and will flag off a train from Shaheed Sthal station.

Modi also tweeted a video of laying the foundation stone of the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir in Varanasi and tweeted that it was a pleasure to have initiated the work at Kashi Viswanath. " I have dreamt for a long time to work for this place. When I was not in politics I came here several times and used to think that something should happen here," Modi said adding that 'Bhole Baba nai tai kiya hoga baatein bahut karte ho yahan aao kuch karke dikhao' (Lord Shiva must have decided that you talk too much and now is the time that you should come here and do something." he said. He also said that due to its blessings the fulfillment of his dream has started.
