NEW DELHI: In a bid to pay condolences towards the bereaved family of the 9-year-old "rape and murder" victim in New Delhi, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the family and assured justice.

It may be mentioned that the minor 9-year-old girl became victim of a heinous crime and was allegedly raped and murdered at the Cantonment area in Delhi on Sunday last.

While meeting the grief-stricken family while they were not at all at terms in recuperating from this shocking tragedy, Congress top brass Rahul Gandhi said, "Tears of the unfortunate parents were pleading for just one thing – justice for their daughter, justice for India's daughter. And, in this path for justice, I stand with them."

Reportedly on Sunday last, during the evening hours, the minor girl went seen going to the nearby crematorium that was at a stone's throw from her home in order to fetch drinking water, was never seen by anyone returning back home.

Incidentally, the priest of the cremation who identified himself as Radheshyam had claimed that the minor girl was electrocuted in an accident.

The unfortunate victim's mother further added, "there were burn marks on the wrist and elbow and the lips were blue."

As per sources, the priest and his companions are also at the points of the radar at this moment as he, allegedly along with his friends threatened the parents of the girl not to go to the police and report anything about the crime.

Meanwhile, unable to understand the situation and doubting foul play regarding their daughter's disappearance and murder, the parents of the minor victim reported the matter to the police.

According to police sources, four persons in connection with the crime have been arrested so far. When asked about the specific details of the crime, the Delhi Police meanwhile informed that the "post-mortem was inconclusive".

The police further added that four suspects arrested in connection with the case would be undergoing polygraph and narcotics tests. The police is yet to ascertain the facts.
