Rajasthan Court Sentences Man To Death For Raping and Killing 11-Year-Old Girl

Jaipur: On Tuesday, a court in Rajasthan sentenced a man to death on charges of rape and murder of an 11-year-old minor girl. 

The accused identified as Surendra alias Santu was held guilty by a special court in Ajmer, Rajasthan, on Monday and was sentenced to death by Judge Rata Lal Moond.

According to reports, the 11-year old minor girl had gone missing after she climbed up a hill to graze goats. Her body was later recovered from the hill and bore injury marks. The incident took place on June 21 and the accused was immediately arrested on June 22. 

On October 22, a court in Rajasthan's Nagaur district sentenced a man to death on the charges of rape and murder of a 7-year-old girl. The accused has been identified as Dinesh Jatt.

In a similar case, the court had sentenced another man to 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakhs on the charges of rape of a nine-year-old minor girl.

In other news, a girl was gang-raped and blackmailed by three men in Assam's Dibrugarh. Reportedly, one of the accused was a student of the same college as the victim and was a close acquaintance identified as Aryan Das.
