JALANDHAR: In a shocking incident, a man set a house on fire with five people inside leading to the death of all of them. The list of people who died in the incident includes two minors, two women, and one elderly person. This shocking incident reportedly took place in a slum in the Mahitpur region of the Jalandhar district of Punjab.

Kuldeep Singh, aged 30 years has been accused as the prime suspect of the multiple homicides. According to sources, he was addicted to narcotic substances. This often led to fights between him and his wife, and he would resort to physical violence. Also, he used to beat up his two children very badly on multiple occasions. He is said to hail from the Khurshedpur village in Ludhiana of Punjab.

Following the regular incidents of substance abuse and physical harm, his now-deceased wife Paramjit Kaur left for her maternal home along with her minor children. This enraged the accused Kuldeep Singh who asked her to return. And when they did not follow his instructions, he is said to have taken this brutal step.

According to reports, the accused sprinkled petrol and set the slum on fire at night when his children, wife, and her parents were still sleeping inside. The bodies of the deceased were later sent for post-mortem in the Civil Hospital in Nakodar.

The deceased have been identified as Paramjit Kaur, her father Surjan Singh, her mother Jogindero, and her two kids, Arshdeep (8) and Anmol (5).

A case has been filed against the accused Kuldeep Singh, but he is said to be absconding as of now and a search operation by the Police Department of Punjab is on to nab him.
