Robber Enter Home To Steal, Rapes 87 Years Old Woman In New Delhi

NEW DELHI: In a heart-wrenching incident in New Delhi, an elderly woman of 87 years old was allegedly raped at the Tilak Nagar area of the national capital.

On Monday 14 February the Delhi police reported about the incident where the miscreant had entered the house of the senior citizen for stealing.

As per the information from the police, on Sunday 13 February the officials received a written complaint from the daughter of a senior citizen about a mobile phone robbery case from a residence in Tilak Nagar.

On the basis of the complaint, an FIR was registered under Indian Penal Code section 380 as informed by Prashant Gautam, additional DCP of Delhi Police.

According to reports the girl who complain about the theft said that the senior citizen of the residence where the robbery took place was allegedly raped.

Police informed that sexual assault has been further alleged by the complainant and as per all the allegations all relevant sections of the law were added to the FIR.

Police have meanwhile initiated a detailed investigation about the case to find out other details and to arrest the accused.

The victim has been treated with counselling sessions and also taken care of with all required help.

It may be mentioned that the national capital Delhi is turning into a hub of crime against women with cases of sexual assault and rapes registered on a regular basis.

As per the data provided 4 months ago by NCRB (National Crime Records Bureau) the state of Delhi has reported the highest tally of crime against women among all the metropolitan cities of India.

According to the data compiled by the Delhi Police, a total of 1,725 women had been allegedly raped until 31st October 31 last year within the area of Delhi city. In 2021 the state has witnessed a 20 per cent increase in such crime against women.
