New Delhi: A Sikkim Police personnel, who was posted in New Delhi, shot dead three of his colleagues after they allegedly made indecent remarks about his wife here on Monday.

The incident took place at a water plant in the Haiderpur area of Delhi where these men were posted as a part of the security team.

After committing the crime, the accused named Prabin Rai surrendered in front of the police.

''Upon arriving at the spot, it was found that three persons belonging to Sikkim police had been shot. Of three, two died on the spot while one was critically injured, and following this, he was rushed to BSA hospital where he was declared brought dead,'' Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Pranav Tayal was quoted as saying by media reports.

Reportedly, during the initial investigation, Rai informed the police that his three colleagues caused him mental harassment by making an indecent remark about his wife.

As per reports, when Rai opened fire, the victims were resting following and they didn't even get a chance to escape.

A total of 7 to 8 rounds were fired causing chaos in the nearby areas.
