NEW DELHI : It is a matter of pride for Indian Cinema, as RRR has made it to the Oscar 2023. SS Rajamouli's RRR nailed it and secured its position in the 94th Academy Awards. 

The film got released in March and ever since then, people have not stopped hearing about it. The film is yet again in the buzz with its entry in Oscar. It is to be noted that, RRRs Naatu Naatu is the first ever Indian song to enter the Oscars. The infectiously catchy number Naatu Naatu from RRR, has been selected for Best Original Song Category.

The huge announcement was made by Trade Analyst, Taran Adarsh through tweeter. The filmmakers of RRR are rejoicing as they got an entry in the race to Oscars. Naatu Naatu is the first Indian song that paved its way to the Academy Awards. MM Keeravaani composed the track while it was written by Kala Bhairava along with Rahul Sipligunj. 

The pan-India film directed by SS Rajamouli is based on two real-life Indian revolutionaries before independence. The protagonist was played by Ram Charan ( Alluri Sitarama Raju ) and Jr NTR ( Komaram Bheem ). Prior to this achievement, RRR's Naatu Naatu got selected for two major international nominations. The film was nominated for the Golden Globe Awards 2023.

RRR secured its position in the nomination list of 'Best Picture - Non English Language' and Original Song- Motion Picture. However, the race is not an easy one, as Naatu Naatu will have to compete with 14 other songs. The list of other nominees for the same category includes- Nothing is lost, The Way Of Water from Avatar, Lift Me Up from Black Panthers, Ciao Papa, Hold My Hand from Top Gun, and Corila from Where The Crawdads Sing. 

Other than RRR, Chhello Show a Gujrati film was selected for the International Feature Film Category. RRR was made with a budget of Rs 550 crore, which is reportedly the most high budget film in India.
